Transport Goolsby has the personel and modern equipment to safely move your current mobile home to it's new location.
Kenneth's Toter Your home can be uninstalled and properly prepared for the move. During the move your home is fully insured by Goolsby's cargo insurance. All necessary state and local transport permits are included to cover the move. Please note that it is highly advisable to remove personal contents from the home prier to the move. Items like TV'S, stereo equipment, dishes, pictures and other breakable items are susceptible to damage during transport. Goolsby can not accept liability for damage to loose personal property left in the home. Furniture such as couches, chairs & beds (NOT FULL WATER BEDS) usually travel well as long as they are on carpet. Furniture should not be left on tile or vinyl floors as they tend to slide around. Washers, dryers, stoves and refrigerators should be firmly secured to
Totersprevent damage to floors or walls. All of our trucks and equipment we use is either new or constantly maintained to like new condition to better insure the safe transportation of your home. We are fully bonded and insured as well as being licensed by the state of Mississippi as Transporters and Installers. We are recertified by the state of Mississippi yearly after meeting their stringent training programs and requirements.

Installation Your home can be professionally installed to meet the original manufacturers' set up requirements as well as to meet all state and local building codes. Our employees go through on going training at the state level to insure they are current on all installation regulations to meet or surpass all HUD requirements. Your home will be accurately leveled and securely anchored. We can supply all the necessary materials needed for the installation of your home at it's new location. Please note that you may be responsible to obtain a building permit or letter of intent from the local officials in some areas prier to the installation of your home.

Finish Trim Out for Double Wides Interior and exterior trim out is available as well as reseaming the carpet areas of the home. Although great care is taken when reinstalling interior moldings it often happens that small molding pieces chip or get cracked when being removed. Also, reseaming the carpet may not produce the same result as the original seam.

Special Equipment The site at your new location may create unforeseen problems for the installation of your home. We have special equipment available that can over come most of these problem situations. Our "Translift" allows us to move the home side ways safely without putting undo stress on your homes' structure when trucks are unable to correctly position the home.

Our bull dozers can also be used effectively in close quarters that may be unmanuverable with our toters (trucks). We can also provide site preparation for proper drainage away from the home to prevent future problems with standing water. This site preparation is often over looked for the sake of saving a few dollars but, the effects of long term standing water underneath your home can create numerous stability issues with your home as well as potential health risks. We will gladly help with your site preparation however we do not do major site excavations that involve the removable of large trees, stumps and massive amounts of dirt. Minimizing the stress that is inflicted on the home structure when positioning the home is critical to maintaining the integrity of the longevity of your home. Many installers rely on winches to help position the home in difficult site situations. This method will work to position the home however, the extreme stress that is applied to the homes overall structure can cause irreparable damage that may not be readily noticable. Although some of the equipment we use at Goolsby's such as bulldozers, translifts and toters equipped with 6 way hitches require a substantial investment, we feel that it is worth it for our valued customers. State of the art toters with 6 way hitches allow us to move the home in six different directions from the hitch end of the home without moving the toters allowing for a more precise fit while minimizing possible damage to the home.

Releveling Homes that were improperly set up or placed on soft soil without the proper site preparation, concrete piers or ABS foundation pads in time may require the home to be releveled to the proper position. Doors or windows that don't function correctly may be an indication that the home has settled unevenly. We can restore the home to the correct level position where necessary. Additional support can also be added in problem areas as needed.

Site Preparation Site prepartion is very important to the installation of your home. The land should have a slight slope away from the home allowing rain water to drain off and not remain standing under the home. We can provide help in most cases to properly prepare your site, however we do not do major site excavations and clearings.

Anchoring We can securely anchor your home to meet all present day federal HUD and state safety codes. Improper anchoring is the number one reason that so many older homes that were installed prior to current code regulations fail under adverse weather conditions. Most of the homes you see on the news that are damaged or destroyed on the news are due to out dated anchoring systems or no anchoring systems at all.

Install Wheels & Axles The running gear on your mobile was most likely removed at the time it was set up at it's present location. We can provide and install the wheels and axles for the move.

Install Tongues The tongues probably were also removed during set up. We can reinstall the original tongues if you still have them or provide them for you if needed. Depending on the situation we will either bolt the tongues on or have them welded in place.

Set on Piers or ABS Pads Your home can be set on either concrete piers or ABS Pads. ABS Pads are approved for use by HUD (the Department of the Federal Housing and Urban Development) and the state of Mississippi as an alternative to pouring concrete. ABS Pads are considerable less expensive than poured concrete piers for foundation support. They may not look like they could effectively support your home but the engineers at HUD and the state of Mississippi give them their full stamp of approval.

Parts Although we stock a huge supply of mobile home parts, we do so to have them readily available for refurbishing our pre owned homes in as timely manner as possible. At the present time we do not stock parts for retail purposes to the public.
